Common questions

Things people ask.

The honest answers. Email hi@outofofficepro.com for anything we missed.

01What does this actually cost?

Free for five dispatches a month. After that, $9.99/month for unlimited. Cancel any time. We pro-rate upgrades and downgrades. Full pricing →

02Is it secure?

Caller info goes from your page to the responder's email. We don't share it with anyone else. We're hosted on Cloudflare's edge with HTTPS everywhere. Sessions are HTTP-only cookies. Tokens are 256-bit random and single-use. The full architecture is open at github.com/ggmcodes/outofofficepro if you want to read the code.

03What can my callers see on my page?

Only what you put there: your headline, your tagline, the names of your subjects (properties, matters, clients), and the issue categories. Vendor and partner phone numbers are revealed only after the caller identifies their issue type and provides their own name and phone. Your fallback contact is shown only when no specific routing matches.

04What if a responder doesn't pick up?

We give the caller the phone number and email a written record. Whether the responder answers is between them and the caller — we can't make calls happen any more than your voicemail can. A backup-responder feature is coming on Pro for failover scenarios.

05Can I edit my page after I set it up?

Yes. Sign in with the email you used to onboard, edit anything, save. The change is live immediately.

06How is this different from a regular OOO email reply?

Regular OOO replies say "I'm gone, contact X." Passive. Your caller still has to figure out who X is and how to reach them, often in a panic. OutOfOfficePro actively routes the emergency: caller identifies the issue type, we email the right responder, we show the caller the phone number, we log the dispatch. Active beats passive when seconds matter.

07Do you support multiple users editing the same account?

Coming on the Team tier later this year. Email us if you need it now and we'll set you up manually.

08Does it work for international callers?

Yes. The page works anywhere. Phone numbers are stored as text — store yours however you like, US or international format. The "tap to call" link uses standard tel: URIs that work on any phone.

09Is this only for emergencies?

We built it for emergencies, but the routing pattern works for any "I need to get this to the right person" situation: client onboarding inquiries, sales leads, support escalations, after-hours operations. Use it however it fits your work.

10Why is it called OutOfOfficePro?

Because passive auto-responders are amateur hour. We're the pro version: your business actually runs while you're out. The name is also dictation-friendly on voicemail — every syllable is a real word, no homophones, no spelling traps.

11What about HIPAA?

OutOfOfficePro is not currently HIPAA-compliant and shouldn't be used to route Protected Health Information. If you're a healthcare provider with PHI workflows, please wait — we're working on a HIPAA-ready Healthcare tier.

12Can I use my own domain?

On the Pro tier, yes. Map vacation.yourcompany.com (or any domain you own) to your page. Your callers see your brand, not ours.
